About the Event
Festival of Cats 2022 will be hosting a series of exhibitions, workshops, and events throughout Thanet during March.
Festival of Cats started as a celebration of T.S.Eliot's book of poetry - “Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats' and much like the book, the festival celebrates the psychology, sociology, and whimsy of cats.
The Festival of Cats exhibition will be on at The Margate School from Friday 25th March to Sunday 27th March, featuring artworks from over 100 local and national artists. Spanning art forms from paintings to animations to poetry, the exhibition will be a hub of all things art and feline.
The exhibition will also play host to a variety of events including performances and tours. The first hour of every day will be a relaxed session, with lower visitor numbers, for people who prefer quieter surroundings.
We’ll be opening the festival with an open view at The Margate School on Thursday 24th March from 4-8pm, where you can get a first look at the exhibition and meet the artists.
The Festival of Cats is kindly supported by Kent County Council and the Charter Trustees of Margate.
