Sound Artist Dr Edward Kelly
Sound artist Dr Edward Kelly was one of three residents who joined our Art and Technology Residency back in March. During the residency, Ed produced an interactive multi-channel sound installation which was then exhibited at The Margate School. He is now a TMS fellow (currently being offered to our studio residents and graduates) and will be involved with our new Sound Arts postgraduate course.
Ed's work encompasses interactive sound art, digital music, electronics, and software design for audio. His work has been published and performed at international conferences and journals.
Ed studied Electronic Music with Javier Alvarez, Ian Dearden, and Martin Parry at the University of Hertfordshire in the 1990s. He went on to complete a PhD in composition at the University of East Anglia. For over ten years he taught and mentored students in Fine Art (Digital) at Camberwell College of Arts, and provided both academic and technical services to students.
